FDA approves Prozac use by children

Physicians have been prescribing Prozac and similar antidepressants to children with depression and obsessive compulsive disorder. The FDA only recently approved the use of Prozac for children 7 to 17 years old. However, another study by a scientist within the FDA believes that antidepressants could actually contribute to suicidal tendencies and in fact the many of the side effects of the drug are the same as the symptoms of the disease it is being used to treat.
