Headache was undiagnosed glaucoma

A man initially suffered from coughing and bad headaches and he assumed he had a cold. One day he awoke with a very bad headache and was completely unable to see. A doctor quickly diagnosed rare acute angle-closure glaucoma which is caused by swift or sudden pressure increase in the eye. The sudden and severe symptoms need immediate treatment to prevent permanent loss. The doctor drained the pressure in the eye using laser procedure. The treatment was successful and the man fully regained his sight.
