Heart tumours plague members of family until Carney complex is diagnosed

Heart problems plagued one family for over 30 years. One member had a large heart tumour, another had a massive stroke and yet another had a stroke while in her 20's resulting in brain damage. Tests continued and it wasn't until another member started developing heart tumours that a doctor diagnosed Carney complex - a genetic disease. The disease is treated by surgical removal of tumours which if undiagnosed can break off and cause strokes or block arteries.
