Vioxx costing Merck millions

Litigation against Merck, the drug company that produced the anti-inflammatory Vioxx, is heading into $18 million from 2,000 cases after a study found that prolonged use doubled the risk of strokes and heart attacks. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has also been implicated in the lawsuits.
