Website offers broad range of information about prescription drugs

A web site is now available which allows consumers to find information on over 500 prescription drugs and has warnings about 181 drugs that may either be not safe or ineffective. Also available is prices of drugs and other information about safer alternatives. The site was launched by Public Citizen ( Public Citizen claims to have warned consumers about the dangers of Vioxx long before it was banned. In fact, it warned consumers about Vioxx, Baycol, Rezulin and Serzone 2 years before they were banned. About 100,000 people are believed to die from adverse drug reactions each year and almost 1.5 million others need to be hospitalized because of an adverse drug reaction.
