A 30 year old woman started developing hand tremors during her third pregnancy and started to affect her driving. Her GP said it was due to having had 3 children. Her condition deteriorated after an unrelated car accident. A specialist told her she had writer’s cramp. A second consultant suggested multiple sclerosis or Huntington’s. As her symptoms became worse, another doctor told her it was in her head. She was finally diagnosed with Parkinson’s – she is one of about 5% who are diagnosed under the age of 40.
