Geniohyoid Muscle: The geniohyoid muscle is one of the suprahyoids, a group of paired muscles of the anterior neck located above the hyoid bone. The geniohyoid muscle inserts on the hyoid bone. The geniohyoid muscle elevates the hyoid bone while swallowing. It is innervated by the hypoglossal nerve.
