IgE: IgE is a type of antibody, substances that fight harmful pathogens and microorganisms that can invade the body and cause problems to health, such as infections. IgE may be protective against infection by parasitic worms. It is also produced during allergic reactions and allergic asthma attacks. It generates histamine release and plays a large role in the symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as runny nose, bronchial constriction and wheezing.
