Glossary for Ramon Syndrome

  • Cherubism: Hereditory progressive swelling of the mandible and sometimes whole jaw giving a cherubic look of the face.
  • Epilepsy: Brain condition causing seizures or spasms.
  • Fibrous Dysplasia: A rare condition where fibrous tissues develops instead of normal bone tissue. One or more bones may be affected and bones in the legs, head and chest are the usual ones affected.
  • Hair conditions: Any disorder the affects the hair
  • Hairiness: Increasing or heavy head or body hair
  • Head Conditions: Conditions that affect the head
  • Hypertrichosis: Hypertrichosis is an overgrowth of hair not localized to the androgen-dependent areas of the skin
  • Mental problems: Symptoms affecting judgement, thought or intelligence.
  • Mental retardation conditions: Medical conditions related to or causing mental retardation.
  • Mouth conditions: Any condition that affects the mouth
  • Poor growth: Poor body growth or delayed physical development.
  • Seizures: A rare syndrome characterized by mental retardation, seizures and high levels of hydroxylysine in the urine.
