Glossary for Systemic monochloroacetate poisoning

  • Agitation: A state of increased tension with episodes of emotional and physical irritability.
  • Chemical-related conditions: Medical conditions related to chemicals and toxin exposures.

  • Disorientation: Disorientation is an abnormal mental state in which a person is unaware of or confused to person, place, or date/time.
  • Heart failure: Slow failure of the heart (cardiac insufficiency).
  • Metabolic acidosis: Metabolic acidosis is a process which if unchecked leads to acidemia (i.e. blood pH is low (less than 7.35) due to increased production of H+ by the body or the inability of the body to form bicarbonate (HCO3-) in the kidney.
  • Poisoning, overdose or adverse reactions: Medical conditions related to poisons, drug overdosage, or drug adverse reactions.
  • Systemic disorders: Any condition that occurs in a system of the body
