What is Thalassemia minima?

  • Thalassemia minima: An inherited blood disorder. Normal hemoglobin requires two alpha and two beta proteins to be able to carry out its oxygen-carrying function efficiently. In thalassemia minima, one of the two beta globin-producing genes are deleted but the condition is usually asymptomatic.
