AFP-L3 test: The AFP-L3 (alpha-fetoprotein-L3) test is a laboratory test used to measure the concentration of the L3 form of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in a blood sample. An increase in AFP-L3 is associated with a higher-than-normal risk for liver cancer in patients with chronic liver disease. This marker is not suitable as a cancer marker in pregnant females.
