DNA ploidy status: DNA ploidy status is the relative amount of chromosomes in cells of a particular tissue in order to predict the possibility of cancer relapse; normal is diploid (two sets of paired chromosomes), but cancer cells often have more than two sets of paired chromosomes and are referred to as aneuploid cells.
