Sexual assault testing: Sexual assault testing involves a visual and chemical examination of the victim through a pelvic exam and possibly DNA testing of recovered evidence (e.g. blood, semen, hair, skin); testing for sexually-transmitted diseases is also performed. Sexual assault testing is most effective within 72 hours of the reported incident.
