Weary Syndrome

Weary Syndrome: Introduction

Weary Syndrome: A rare inherited condition characterized by the development of keratotic papules on the hands, feet, knees and elbows. The blisters tend to start soon after birth disappear by the end of childhood. A very similar condition called Kindler syndrome is differentiated by the fact that blisters tend to soon after birth and photosensitivity and skin atrophy is prominent. Treatments for Weary Syndrome

  • Blisters need to be protected from secondary infection - appropriate wound care, moisturizer and topical and systemic antibiotics as needed. Avoid trauma (even minor trauma) to minimize development of blisters. Genetic counseling is also recommended.
