Glossary for Winkelmann Syndrome

  • Ear and Hearing conditions: Medical conditions affecting the ears or the hearing systems.
  • Endocrine system conditions: Medical conditions affecting the endocrine systems, such as the related hormones or glands.
  • Failure To Thrive: Slow growth or inadequate weight gain of an infant or child.
  • Hypopituitary dwarfism: Short stature caused by low pituitary hormone levels which reduced growth hormone levels. Low pituitary hormone levels may be caused by genetic factors or acquired through brain infections, trauma or certain diseases.
  • Reproductive conditions: Medical conditions of the reproductive system in men or women.
  • Short stature: A rare syndrome characterized mainly by the association of short stature, Pierre Robin sequence, cleft mandible, hand anomalies and clubfoot.
